GW’s Health Equity Section, a collaboration between Emergency and Family Medicine, addresses social determinants of health through education, research, clinical care, and community engagement.
Our curriculum emphasizes critical care with GW’s blended ICU as well as Inova Fairfax’s Medical ICU, Trauma ICU, and Pediatric ICU. The clinical activities are designed to complement both the formal didactic components in our residency and independent learning activities.
GW Emergency Medicine Residents work primarily in two emergency departments: the George Washington University Hospital and the INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Time is also spent at Children's National. Each hospital offers a diverse patient population which provides a broad training experience.
